Palworld – The Official Card Game – is coming in July: here’s what we know so far

Palworld has had a couple of years like very few other games. After launching and being widely accused of giving the finger to Nintendo and The Pokémon Company, things settled down, and now we only get the occasional story about a legal threat or two from Japan. This morning’s snews might wake up a lawyer or two though.

Palword took the internet by storm, far beyond the lazy “Pokémon with guns” labelling it got. The huge amount of cash it brought in quickly has allowed Pocketpair to really hone in on the original idea, expand its team worldwide and now start spinning things off into a proper franchise, which is huge.

The Palworld Official Card Game will be a “2-player competitive card game where you can enjoy strategic and tactical battles through deploying various unique Pals.

Players fight alongside their Pal companions, gathering resources, and building bases as they aim for victory. These adorable and dependable Pals will utilize their own unique traits to lead you to victory.”

When is the Palworld card game released?

The game is currently set for a launch on July 30th this year and is being produced in association with Bushiroad.

Pocketpair Communication Director John Buckley said in a LinkedIn post, “We have partnered with Bushiroad in this endeavour, and it marks the next step in Palworld’s multimedia adventure! As we work towards Palworld exiting early access later this year, Palworld has grown into a brand of its own.

Palworld Mobile, Palworld Official Card Game, Palfarm, More than just Pals and more…

While I admit this is all very new for us, the passion our fans have for this new IP is what drives us. We’ll keep working hard, both at Pocketpair and Pocketpair Publishing, so more people have more fun things to play!”

If Palworld can mobilize its huge army of fans, then the Official Card Game is set to be another giant success for Pocketpair.

Pokemon with guns indeed.
