Right from its release, Palworld has been under fire with Nintendo accusing the game of “copying” many aspects of the Pokémon franchise. However, it seems like developer Pocketpair doesn’t care about the criticism and is pushing forward.
It has been revealed that the Palworld Trading Card Game is all set to drop on July 30th, 2026! That’s right, Pokemon TCG has some competition now. Let’s take a look at what’s coming with this trading card game.

So, what exactly is this trading card game all about? Well, at its core, it’s a competitive card game. You’ll have plenty of Pal Cads to hunt down. Use them to gather resources, make bases, and fight off your opponent in battles.
Now, these battles aren’t a walk in the park, gamers. Every decision you take here will matter, and understanding the mechanics is essential. If you’re not in the mood for those sweaty duels, don’t worry; you can always enjoy the game purely as a collector and make your Pal card library.
Currently, we don’t know what exactly these Palworld trading cards will look like. However, keep in mind that Pocketpair is developing this project in collaboration with Bushiroad. This is the same company that has provided us with trading cards for titles such as Vanguard, Shadowverse, Five Crosses, and many others. It’s safe to say that the Palworld Trading Card game is in the right hands.
Now, will the Palworld Trading Card Game be able to stand up against Pokémon TCG? Well, that’s something we’ll only know once we get more details about the cards and their designs. For now, all we can do is wait and hope that Nintendo doesn’t decide to sue this project into the ground out of nowhere.

2026 isn’t an exciting year for Palworld just because it’s getting its very own trading game. This year is expected to be a significant one for the franchise, as the main game is finally set to leave early access and release its 1.0 update. That’s right, gamers – it’s finally happening after two years.
So, what’s going to be included in the 1.0 update? For now, that’s something we don’t know anything about. The only information Pocketpair has provided on its Steam page is that it will launch a massive update to celebrate the occasion. So, you can expect to see some new Pals, buildings, game features, and whatnot. The game is certainly going to be overhauled with this update.
There’s no specific release date for the 1.0 update, as it’s scheduled to be released sometime in 2026. However, there might be a chance that we see it alongside the launch of the Palworld Trading Card game this summer. It would be a perfect occasion to celebrate how far the Palworld franchise has come.
