Another day, and another win for GTA 6. At The Game Awards 2025, the highly anticipated upcoming title from Rockstar Games snagged its second award, despite being delayed to November 2026. GTA 6 won the Most Anticipated Game Award once again, to no one’s surprise, and it feels like Rockstar has cracked the code to win awards without doing anything.

It’s not the first time GTA 6 has won the Most Anticipated Game Award after winning it back at The Game Awards 2024. While this year’s lineup was incredibly stacked, with titles such as Marvel’s Wolverine, The Witcher 4, and Resident Evil Requiem gracing the list, Grand Theft Auto 6 still took home the win.
It’s not a secret that this game is perhaps the most anticipated game of the decade, and it might be a bit scummy to be nominated for the Most Anticipated Game twice in a row. However, no one can deny Rockstar’s unprecedented scope and ambition in developing the game.
Being delayed by a year couldn’t falter the overall anticipation and hype surrounding the upcoming open-world title. Truthfully, its win at this year’s The Game Awards isn’t undeserved either, since players have waited more than a decade for the game, and voting for it twice in a row makes complete sense.
GTA 6 isn’t just a game; it’s going to be a worldwide pop-culture phenomenon that will remain long after its release, similar to its predecessor, Grand Theft Auto 5, whose online counterpart is still receiving exciting updates to this day. This otherworldly anticipation for the game will remain till the release date, and likely boom after it.

A delayed title is always better than a rushed one, but could fans handle another one for GTA 6? If it does end up getting delayed for a second time, it would be eligible to be nominated for Most Anticipated Game Award for a whopping third time at The Game Awards 2026, which is absurd but hilarious.
The amusing thing is, it would most likely end up winning for the third time, too. However, let’s not hope for another delay, as there’s always a chance that things go south. While another GTA 6 delay seems unlikely, nothing is out of the realm of possibilities. Until we reach November 19, 2026, be prepared for anything.
A 2027 release date for Rockstar’s golden boy isn’t out of the question, but it would definitely leave a sour taste in most players’ mouths, especially for PC players. Rockstar Games has released its long-awaited titles on consoles first, with the same release strategy for GTA 6. This means PC players will likely have to wait longer to get the game.
But hey, a win at The Game Awards is a win nonetheless. So, what do you think about GTA 6 taking home the Most Anticipated Game Award for the second time at The Game Awards 2025? Share your thoughts and opinions in the comment section below.
